Welcome to the Gender Identity Module

This module will help you to explore some of the more common gender identities.

Gender is not easily defined and changes from culture to culture. What is acceptable for men or women in one society may be taboo in another. As a social construct, gender defines what it means to be either a man or a woman in that particular society. Some cultures recognize third genders and those persons whose gender doesn’t align with their perceived biological sex. Biological sex itself is often ambiguous with many variations. This module will introduce you to some of the more common gender identities and illustrate how to write them respectfully.

This module will be updated with new gender identities as information becomes available.
